Dr. Arango comes from a family of dentists – in fact, his mother is a pediatric dentist and his father is an orthodontist! Where Did You Complete Your Training?
A Dallas native, Dr. Arango attended Christ the King Catholic School and the Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas. After graduating from high school, he received his Bachelor of Biology from Saint Louis University, followed by his dental degree from the University of Texas-Health Science Center in Houston, where he graduated at the top of his class. Subsequently, he was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society for excellence in academics while demonstrating exemplary traits of character. He became drawn to surgery while in dental school and went on to attend medical school at the UT-Health Science Center in San Antonio. After graduating, he completed an internship in general surgery and then a residency in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the UT-Health Science Center in San Antonio.
What Are You Highly Trained In?
As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who is both a licensed physician and a licensed dentist, Dr. Arango practices the full scope of oral surgical services with an emphasis in orthognathic/reconstructive jaw surgery, sleep apnea, and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) reconstructive surgery. He also has special interests in dental implants, wisdom teeth, bone grafting, and the treatment of facial trauma.
What Do You Like To Do Outside The Office?
When he isn’t busy at the practice, Dr. Arango loves playing soccer, fishing, and cheering on all of the professional sports teams here in Dallas.
